Privacy policy
Last updated 7 August 2026
This policy covers the Maverick NEXT Impact Award: what we collect when you apply, what we do with it, and how to tell us to stop. Applying is free, and you can ask us to delete your information at any time.
Who we are
The Award is run by the Maverick organisations, which for the purposes of this policy means Maverick1000, Maverick NEXT, Maverick Business Adventures and 1000 Suns Nonprofit. Where this policy says “we”, it means those organisations.
What we collect
Most of what we hold about you comes from the application form you fill in, or from conversations you have with us afterwards. That includes:
- Your name
- Your email address
- Your phone number
- Information about your business, such as what you are building, its stage, funding, revenue and the impact it has
- Your personal goals and ambitions, and anything else you choose to tell us in the application
The application form is hosted by Typeform, so your answers pass through and are stored on their systems as well as ours.
Analytics
We use PostHog to understand how people use this site, so that applying is as easy as we can make it. It records the pages you visit, what you click and how far you scroll, and it sets a cookie so we can tell a returning visitor from a new one. It also records a replay of your visit.
The application form itself is not recorded. It runs inside a frame served by Typeform, which our analytics cannot see into, so your answers never form part of any replay.
When you start an application we check your email address with a verification service, Reoon, to keep fake and throwaway addresses out. We send them the address and nothing else.
If you start an application and give us your email address, we keep it even if you never finish, so that we can remind you your application is waiting. Tell us to delete it and we will.
You can opt out of analytics entirely by turning on Do Not Track or Global Privacy Control in your browser, or by emailing us at the address below.
How we use it
- To assess your application and decide who receives a fellowship
- To contact you about your application, including updates on where it has got to and what happens next
- To run the Award and the Impact Experience if you are selected, which may mean sharing relevant details with the people organising it
- For marketing from the Maverick organisations named above and the member organisations connected to them
We will never spam you. If you would rather not hear from us beyond your application, say so and we will stop.
How we might contact you
By email, phone, WhatsApp, or other messaging services, depending on the contact details you give us. Most of it will be about your application. You can ask us to use a particular channel, or none at all.
Who sees your information
Applications are reviewed by people involved in running the Award, which includes current Maverick members. We also use ordinary service providers such as Typeform and email and hosting providers, who process information on our behalf. We do not sell your information.
How long we keep it
We keep applications for as long as we are running the Award and for a reasonable period afterwards, so that we can consider you for future cohorts. If you would rather we did not, ask us and we will delete your application.
Your choices
You can ask us to show you what we hold, correct it, delete it, or stop contacting you. Depending on where you live you may also have formal rights under data protection law, such as the UK and EU GDPR. We will honour those requests either way.
Contact
For anything to do with your information, or to opt out, reply to any email we have sent you or get in touch through mavericknext.com.
